The Giro D’Galway charity cycle tour takes place on October 15th & 16th in aid of Jigsaw Galway. Now in its 3rd year the event attracts cyclists from all over Ireland who tackle the 360km, 2 day, 4 stage fully supported cycling adventure throughout Galway County taking in some of the most picturesque areas of the Wild Atlantic Way in Connemara. With just 3 weeks until the event rolls out of Oranmore this is the final call for cyclists of all abilities to sign up to this bucket list event and become a #girohero in 2016.
The 2 day event includes stage stops in Clifden, Tuam, Portumna and Gort with an overnight in Tuam on Saturday and a massive Giro Party at Galway Bay Golf Resort in Oranmore on the Sunday afternoon. The Giro raises funds to support Jigsaw Galway and their free, confidential and non-judgemental service which supports the mental health and well-being of young people (aged 15-25) in Galway.
As a #girohero you will experience the tour as a cycling pro, all your nutrition is sponsored by Nestor’s Supervalu, it is a fully supported event with mechanical support by the MBW Bike Shop and Bradley Renault support vehicles as part of the convoy. You have two long days in the saddle but everyone works as a team throughout with the shared goal of getting everyone across the finishline on Sunday to be presented with your exclusive Giro D’Galway cycle jersey at the finish party.
It’s free to register for the Giro D’Galway, participants are asked to fundraise, donate or be sponsored €500 to take part. For more information or to register for this year’s Giro D’Galway visit www.JigsawGalway.ie/Giro or call Justin in Jigsaw Galway on 091 549 252.
