Ireland internationals Jack Carty and Bundee Aki are both named in the Connacht matchday squad to face Leinster in the Sportsground on Friday (Kick off 7:35pm).
Carty comes straight back into the side at out half while Aki is named among the replacements for the first InterPro clash of the season.
Carty plays his first game since Ireland’s win over Russia in the World Cup and he forms a half back partnership with Caolin Blade. At midfield, Peter Robb is retained after his recent outstanding performances and he will be partnered by Tom Farrell.
Elsewhere in the backline Stephen Fitzgerald comes in on the wing with Darragh Leader at full-back and the in-form Niyi Adeolokun on the opposite wing.
Up front, there is a highly experienced front row with Denis Buckley and Finlay Bealham filling the loosehead and tighthead spots respectively and Tom McCartney named at hooker.
In the second row, Sligo man Cillian Gallagher comes in for his first start of the season alongside Joe Maksymiw. The back row has a familiar look to it with flankers Eoghan Masterson and Jarrad Butler lining up alongside Paul Boyle at number 8.
Commenting ahead of the game, Connacht Head Coach Andy Friend said: “We are happy with the start we have made in the PRO14 with four wins in a row. What is even more satisfying is the depth we have already displayed, with 35 players already used in the opening five games. With Jack Carty, Bundee Aki and Sean O’Brien all coming back in this week, that number will hopefully go to 38”.
“We obviously face another huge challenge this weekend against Leinster but our challenge is to just maintain the consistency we have seen over the past few weeks both at home and away. We take huge pride in our home record, with just one loss in thirteen games and we expect a massive crowd again on Friday night”, he added.

However, this year has seen a more mature Kilkerrin/Clonberne in both the county and provincial championships and they will host Foxrock/Cabinteely confident of finally making that breakthrough.

Galway United are delighted to announce that Marc
Ludden has signed a new contract with the club.
The experienced full-back has committed his future
to the Tribesmen until the end of the 2020 SSE Airtricity League season.
Ludden’s new deal takes him into his seventh season
at Eamonn Deacy Park. The 29-year-old made 27 appearances for Galway United in
2019, scoring 5 goals. Ludden made headlines in September when he scored 4
goals from left-back against Cobh Ramblers in a 7-1 drubbing at Eamonn Deacy
Park.
Since joining the club in 2014, Ludden has made a
total of 167 appearances for United. Alan Murphy told www.galwayunitedfc.ie
that he was pleased to secure an infleuntial player that has been an
ever-present at left-back for the club over the last number of seasons.
“Marc has a real wealth of experience in the
League of Ireland, I’m delighted to be able to tie him down for another season.
“He’s going to be crucial to what we’re trying
to achieve next year. Marc is a very consistent performer, week in, week out.
His levels never drop.
“It’s important to hold onto Marc, he’s served
the club well. We’re looking to bring in a few more players to add to the group
so that we’re a competitive side that can really push on from last
season.”
Ludden acknowledges that 2019 was largely a season
of development for the club but now he has set his sights on promotion in 2020.
“I’m very happy to be signing back with the
club, there was nowhere else that I wanted to play my football. The target in
2020 is to get Galway United back into the Premier Division.
“Last year was always about bringing through
young players and developing them. Alan signed a few experienced players in
Stephen Christopher, Killian Brouder and Jack Lynch and they added a bit more
balance to the side. I think towards the end of the season it was very
enjoyable for everyone. The football was good on the pitch, our fans were
coming back and we had a decent run in the FAI Cup too.
“I would’ve loved 12 or 15 more games to see
where we could’ve gone last season, I really didn’t want it to end.
“Playing against Cork City and Shamrock Rovers
in the Cup really gave us a taste of Premier Division football and that’s where
you want to be at, competing against the best and seeing where you stand. The
First Division is a competitive league, but hopefully if we sign well, we can
get back to playing against the best teams in the country again.”
Saturday next sees the final of the Duanes Daybreak Intermediate Camogie Championship with Carnmore taking on Kinvara in Loughrea at 12.45.
There is no doubt that this will be a cracker of a game with both teams determined to take the final step and not only become county champions but also to play Senior Camogie next year.
In the run-up to Saturday’s final, John Mulligan has been speaking to both managers ahead of the game. He started with Carnmore manager Karl Donnellan.
John also spoke to Kinvara manager John Linnane

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A public meeting will be held in Moycullen this evening to discuss planned social housing developments in the village.
Galway County Council has confirmed that two or possibly three estates will be developed for social housing in Moycullen.
Works began this week on the first of these sites, along the N59 main road towards the village, where 59 units are expected to be built.
The council says they are obliged to provide more houses, and to reduce the number of applications on the housing waiting list.
The meeting has been organised by, and will be chaired by, Fianna Fail County Councillor Noel Thomas and will begin at 8pm in the Hall in Scoil Mhuire.
Councillor Thomas says some locals have expressed concerns to him about the social housing developments:
Galway Bay fm newsroom – An ethnic food store in Westside is on the newly published closure orders of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
U Pick Store in the Westside Business Centre was served with the closure order last month for breaches including failure to adequately rodent proof the property.
The closure order was served on the 8th of October and it was lifted three days later.
On inspection, 2 dead rats were found in the dry goods storage area and a number of rodent droppings were noted throughout the room.
The retailer was also cited for having no instantaneous supply of hot water at the sinks in the butcher area in the initial stage of the inspection.
Galway Bay fm newsroom – 8 million euro has been confirmed to provide 31turnkey social housing units in Gort, at a location whose future was debated at recent county council meetings.
Turnkey social housing is where local authorities buy ready to go houses or apartments in newly built estates.
At the September and October meetings of the County Council Cllr PJ Murphy raised concerns over the possibility that all 138 residential units at Garrai Mhic Aodha on the Tubber Road could be used for social housing.
The newly announced funding will enable the purchasing of 31 of the units, including 17 two bed houses and 14 three bed houses.
Minister of State and Galway East TD, Ciaran Cannon says the project will provide much needed housing for the town and surrounding area.
Local Fine Gael councillor PJ Murphy is cautiously welcoming the much needed housing.
However, he’s calling on the County Council to ensure that a cap is put in place for social housing in the new residential development.
Councillor Murphy says locals should also have a fair chance to privately purchase housing in the estate.
