Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway farmers will have the opportunity to dispose of their hazardous farm waste at a temporary bring center in Tuam on Friday.
The Department of Agriculture says the center will allow farmers to clear out their stores and dispose of materials including deregulated pesticides and old equippment.
It’s operating a number of collection centers nationwide this month in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency and Teagasc.
The Galway collection center will be open at Tuam Mart on Friday between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Dr Jane Brogan of the EPA says there’s a wide range of hazardous materials farmers can safety dispose of at the center.
