Galway Bay fm newsroom – Eight volunteers will be locked inside a 20 foot shipping container in the city for 24 hours next weekend to highlight the reality of forced migration.
The Infinity Project has been designed by the Giddy Biddy Collective to provoke the viewer to acknowledge the struggles faced by refugees.
The eight volunteers will be locked inside the container with only water to drink, simulating the conditions experienced by migrants.
The container will be painted black inside to replicate real conditions, there will be no comforts and no communication with the outside world.
Participants will remain inside the container for 24 hours from 11am on Friday September 18th until 11am the following day.
The display is taking place as part of Galway’s Culture Night 2015 programme.
