Galway Bay fm newsroom – An international conference on youth mentoring is underway in the city today.(13/10)
The conference, on quality outcomes in youth mentoring, is organised by the ISPCC in conjunction with the Global Youth Mentoring Network.
It will highlight how using trained volunteer adult mentors to support young people can have positive outcomes in dealing with challenges.
Speakers include contributors from the ISPCC, Youth body Foróige, and humanitarian organisation UNESCO.
The public conference is running until 4 o’ clock this afternoon at the ILAS building.
Director of Services, Caroline O’ Sullivan, says youth mentoring can be challenging work.
