Galway Bay fm newsroom – A new sustainability initiative has been launched by NUI Galway making it the first University in Ireland to join the Sustainable Energy Communities Network.
The project aims to promote energy-efficiency to make the campus one of the greenest, healthiest and community-focused in the world.
As part of the initiative, a ‘Battle of the Buildings’ event has been launched to make students and staff more aware of energy consumption within buildings.
Sustainability Research Associate Michelle O’ Dowd says projects like this will help show the wider community how to be more energy efficient.
