Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Garda Chief Superintendent says Galway is the most requested transfer location for Gardaí in Ireland.
The matter was raised at Joint Policing Committee level by committee member and city councillor Padraig Conneely.
Chief Superintendent Tom Curley says a large number of experienced Gardaí are seeking to transfer to Galway – and as a result, the city and county will benefit.
The Garda chief says he’ll provide an update on incoming transfers at the JPC’s next meeting in September.
