Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Roscommon Galway TD is calling for a ‘constructive coalition’ involving the two largest parties, the Social Democrats, the Greens and Independents.
Deputy Denis Naughten is the de facto leader of the group of rural Independents, which Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are seeking to do a deal with to form a government.
The group also includes Galway West TD Noel Grealish.
Deputy Naughten says Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil realise that they have no choice but to discuss their manifestos with smaller parties.
He says the major parties accept that they didn’t get a mandate from the people, and are willing to change.
