Galway Bay fm newsroom – Coastal searches are resuming today for a young man, who’s in his thirties, and who was seen entering the water at Wolfe Tone Bridge last Thurs evening.
Gardaí and the coastguard helicopter were immediately deployed to Galway Docks and the Claddagh but the man, a Roscommon native, was not found.
The newly established Oranmore Maree coastal search unit is involved in the search
Today’s search commences at 2pm and volunteers are asked to meet at the Maree Community Centre.
Since there will be no search tomorrow St. Patricks Day the search unit is appealing to people to come out in force today, which has a low tide
So far in excess of 400 volunteers have been involved in the daily searches.
