Galway Bay fm newsroom – There are currently more construction jobs available in the west than there are students to fill the roles.
That’s according to the organiser of GMIT’s Annual International Construction Management Conference, lecturer Martin Taggart.
The conference of students, educators and industry partners is underway at the Dublin Road campus today.
The conference first took place 6 years ago when construction activity had dropped significantly.
However, Martin Taggart says things have turned around and now there aren’t enough graduates to fill construction industry jobs.
