Galway Bay Fm newsroom-The funeral of golfing legend Christy O’Connor Junior, who died suddenly while on holidays in Spain last Tuesday, will take place in Galway tomorrow evening (Monday) and Tuesday.
The 67-year-old will repose at St Anthony’s Room within the Church of St John the Apostle in Knocknacarra from 2 pm on Monday afternoon with removal to Galway Cathedral at 6 pm.
His funeral mass will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday and he will be laid to rest afterwards at Rahoon Cemetery.
The popular and unassuming international golf star, is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Ann and son Nigel, grandchildren Ava, Zara and Leda and extended family including his and uncle, one of Irelan’s best known golfers from the 1950s and 60s Christy O’Connor Snr.
