Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Department of Social Protection will open a temporary Community Welfare Service clinic in Gort town tomorrow, to help locals affected by flooding.
The service will operate tomorrow Thursday, and from Monday the 4th of January until further notice.
The clinic will be open from 10.30am to 12.30pm and will be located in the Community Centre in the town.
Staff will be available to provide advice and to assist with applications under the Humanitarian Assistance scheme.
The scheme is run by the Department of Social Protection and aims to assist those affected by flooding with essential supplies and determine future remedial works.
A dedicated telephone line has also been set up at the Intreo Centre in Loughrea – (091) 536773.
People seeking assistance under the scheme may also call in to the Loughrea Intreo Centre.
