Galway Bay fm newsroom – A young man who died in a multi-vehicle collision near Headford yesterday has been named locally as Luan McCaul from Ballyfruit, Headford.
The three-vehicle collision happened at Cordarragh on the R337 around 2p.m. and 6 other people were injured.
20 year old Luan McCaul, who was the driver of one car involved in the collision, died at the scene.
4 occupants of a second car which was involved were also injured but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The driver and passenger of third vehicle – a jeep – a mother and her baby were also taken to UHG.
The baby was not seriously injured while the mother is today making a very good recovery from her injuries.
The Ballyfruit and wider Headford area are rallying around the McCaul family as they try to come to terms with the tragedy.
