Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Minister with responsibility for the Office of Public Works will visit Ballinasloe next week to see the impact of the recent flooding in the town. (Tuesday 22/12)
Junior Minister Simon Harris is set to arrive in Ballinasloe on Tuesday, where he’ll review remedial works which were carried out following the serious flooding of 2009.
The Minister will also consider other solutions being proposed by a local flood action group.
A public meeting will take place in the Táin Bar this evening to discuss local issues relating to flooding.
Pat Finn from the Ballinasloe Flood Action Group says a rapid alert and response system needs to be put in place to help people prevent flooding.
