Galway Bay fm newsroom – Concern is growing on the Aran Islands this evening amid claims that the ferry service to Inis Mór is set to cease in the coming weeks.
Comharchumann Forbartha Arann Teo says that it has received notice from Island Ferries Teoranta that the service is to cease operation on January 16th.
The Inis Mór co-op says it’s in contact with Gaeltacht Minister Joe McHugh and Galway County Council and will hold an emergency meeting tonight to discuss this situation.
When contacted by Galway Bay fm news, Island Ferries Teoranta would not confirm or deny reports that it is to end it’s service to Inis Mór.
