Galway Bay fm newsroom – Shannon Airport’s rich and colourful history is being celebrated in a series of photographs of some of the world’s most celebrated people.
The permanent exhibition includes more than 60 images capturing the 70 year history of the airport.
Photographs include all of the US Presidents since John F Kennedy, Pope John Paul the second, Boris Yelstin, Nelson Mandela and numerous movie stars who transitted Shannon during the heyday of air travel.
Oranmore resident Ann Coyle, who’s originally from Kilmallock in Limierick, is in one of the photographs, pictured with movie star Gene Kelly.
