Galway Bay fm newsroom – NUI Galway is teaming up with former President Mary Robinson to run the State’s first presidential archive and research centre.
The 8 million euro facility is being developed at Mary Robinson’s former family home in Ballina, and will open in 2017.
The centre will include a museum, events centre and archive which will house files relating to her legal work, presidential engagements and term as UN high commissioner for human rights.
According to the Irish Times, the research facility will be run as an academic partnership with NUI Galway.
