Galway Bay fm newsroom  – A new publication which outlines a strategy for a low-carbon, sustainable Galway will be launched in the city tomorrow.

The 100-page document entitled ‘A Vision for Galway 2030’ will be launched by Mayor of Galway Frank Fahy.

Over the past two years, local environmental group Transition Galway has gathered ideas from the public on how a low-carbon, sustainable Galway city could be achieved by 2030.

The strategy document is divided into eight sections and includes topics such as energy, food and water, infrastructure, education, arts and culture and economics.

Transition Galway has also produced a website and eight short films outlining the solutions to each issue.

The launch takes place at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday) at the Galway 2020 Hub, Middle Street.

Transition Galway spokesperson Kieran Cunnane says the vision document aims to set out a long term plan for the city.
