Galway Bay fm newsroom – Controversy over the staging of an event at Cregg Castle in Corrandulla at the end of this month seems to be resolved.

A meeting between locals and the operator of Cregg Castle took place at Peggys in Auccloggeen last night.

Local residents had been concerned about the Secret Sounds Hallowe’en party planned for October 31st.

A similiar event last year resulted in claims of anti-social behaviour and drug use.

However agreement has been reached over security for the event.

A sound engineer will be hired for the night to monitor noise levels, which will be reduced at 2a.m.

All music will end at 3a.m and security at this year’s event will be doubled.

Everyone leaving the venue will have to leave by bus or taxi and will not be permitted to leave on foot.

Councillor James Charity says the meeting was positive and allays many of the concerns of local people.
