Galway Bay fm newsroom – Recent figures for the Galway Coke Zero Bike Scheme show possible need for expansion.
Figures from the National Transport Authority show that there are over 2,100 annual members signed up to the scheme since it started last November.
The most popular docking station for the Bike Scheme is Galway Cathedral.
For the first time the statistics show the exact trips that were taken from beginning to end.
Some of the more popular routes indicate that stations from Eyre Square and Fairgreen docking stations to stations on Fr. Burke Road and the Cladagh Basin.
Galway West TD Sean Kyne says the statistics show the popularity of the scheme and that possible expansion should be looked into.
