Galway Bay fm newsroom – A code of conduct has been put in place by the Connemara Pony Breeders Society for those who become members of the organisation’s 19 member ruling Council.

The first steps have now been put in place to elect members to the Society’s Council under a new set of regulation which were agreed upon recently.

The Connemara Pony Breeders Society has laid down the law for members of its Council in regard to conduct.
The Society revamped and rewrote much of its Constitution this year and a by law was passed recently which has strong stipulations for those who may be elected to the 19 member Council; these are the people who oversee the Society’s affairs.
Members must not publish or allow to be published on any form of media, including social media, any material which in the opinion of the Council might be defamatory or injurious to any person or to the Society.
The bye law also states that Council members must not conduct themselves in a threatening, intimadatory or menacing manner either verbally, physically or mentally to other members…or to the Society’s staff.
It is not known if the bye law springs from some acrimony in the Society in recent years.
