Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Aran Islands lifeboat is assisting the Irish Coast Guard in an operation off the Clare coast after coast guard personnel entered the water.
It’s understood the Kilkee rib was involved in an ongoing search operation for a missing man at the time of the incident.
It’s believed three coast guard personnel entered the water.
Two have since been recovered from the water.
It’s understood that one – a man – is being treated at the scene while a woman has been airlifted to University Hospital Limerick.
The Coast Guard says it has a visual on the third person, who is currently in an inaccessible area and rescue efforts are ongoing.
