Galway Bay fm newsroom – Gardaí are appealing for information following a spate of burglaries across the west of the city and Moycullen in recent days.
Four houses in Newcastle, Knocknacarra and Moycullen were broken into, and a quantity of cash and electronic items were stolen.
On Friday evening between 5 and 11.30, a house in Hazel Park, Newcastle was broken into.
The house was ransacked and a laptop was taken.
The intruders gained access to the house through an unlocked back door.
On Saturday, a home in Dangan Heights was burgled between 9.30 and 10.15pm.
The resident returned to the house after leaving for around 45 minutes to find that intruders had broked in by removing a pane of glass from the kitchen window.
A number of rooms were ransacked and a quantity of cash and other items were taken.
On the same evening between 7 and 9.45 – a house in Drom Oir, Knocknacarra was burgled.
Entry was gained through an unlocked back door and a number of items were stolen.
A black Hyundai SUV may have been involved in this incident – Gardaí say the car was seen circling the estate on the evening of the burglary.
On Saturday night between 8.30 and 1.30am – a house in Ugool, Moycullen was burgled and the contents of a safe were stolen.
