Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway’s first ever Pride flag-raising ceremony will take place at Eyre Square this afternoon.
The event is being held as part of this year’s Galway Pride Festival, which is now in its 27th year and is themed #expressyourself.
The flag raising ceremony will kick off a week-long, family friendly programme of events across the city.
Festival chairperson Bruce Henry says it’s an important time to celebrate Galway’s LGBT community.
