Galway Bay fm newsroom – The government has approved a three-year scheme to improve the provision of services through Irish at Galway City Council.
The scheme aims to ensure that those seeking Irish language services at Galway City Council are facilitated.
It’s the third such scheme to be implemented by the local authority.
The latest framework will remain in place for three years, once it comes into force on Monday. (15/8)
It includes a full set of objectives for the council with regard to Irish language services.
City Council language officer Ailish Bhreathnach says under the scheme, staff receive Irish language training.
