Galway Bay Fm newsroom-Inclement weather today (Sunday) is delaying the shipping of a step-up transformer to operate the Aran Island’s electrical voltage on Inis Meain and Inis Oirr after the underwater cable to the islands was damaged some days ago.
It will be later in the week before power can be restored according to Bernadine Maloney, Corporate Communications Manager with the ESB.
But she says that while the step-up transformer can’t be transported today due to strong winds and rough seas the ESB hopes it can be transported tomorrow (Monday)
