Galway Bay fm newsroom – It’s hoped the N59 will reopen at Lettershea today following a major landslide which closed the national route for three days.
A series of landslides begun last Thursday evening around 5 miles east of Clifden town, and thousands of tonnes of landslide material covered the road.
Galway County Council says it hopes to reopen the road later today.
In the meantime, diversions remain in place via the R344 for those travelling to/from Clifden and via the R341 for those travelling to/from Roundstone.
