Galway Bay fm newsroom – The national Housing Agency says Galway’s housing crisis could be solved through improved interaction between the private and social housing markets.
A major housing conference is underway in Salthill today, which will be addressed by a series of housing experts from across Ireland.
The networking event is being hosted by Galway City and County Council in a bid to find solutions to Galway’s ongoing housing crisis.
The local authorities are meeting with those with an interest in increasing housing supply across Galway – from developers and contractors to housing bodies.
The conference got underway this morning at the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill.
Jim Baneham of the government Housing Agency said better interaction is needed between the social and private markets.
Tom Parlon, Director General of the Construction Industry Federation says there’s a number of barriers facing the construction industry.
