The draw for the 3rd round of the Galway Senior Football Championship will take place at 9pm tonight (Monday) in Loughgeorge. There will be two pots with 5 teams in each pot:
POT 1 – the 5 teams that won in Round 1 and lost in Round 2 are: Milltown, St Michaels, An Cheathru Rua, Caltra and St James
POT 2 – the 5 teams that lost in Round 1 and won in Round 2 are: Caherlistrane, Salthill/Knocknacarra, Killannin, Cortoon Shamrocks and Carna/Cashel
(Note: There are no restrictions on teams being drawn against each other so there are 2 possible fixtures that would be a repeat of Round 1: Milltown v Salthill Knocknacarra and St James v Caherlistrane)
The draw for the next round of the Intermediate Football Championship is also expected to be held, although the continuing appeals process into whether Ballinasloe or Clonbur take their place in the first round meeting with Athenry means the championship is behind schedule.
