Galway Bay fm newsroom – A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions following a drug seizure in Knocknacarra last week.
Around 4.7 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of around €94,000 was seized as part of the operation last Friday (June 3).
The joint operation was carried out by the Revenue Customs Service and the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime unit.
The drugs originated in Cotonou, Benin in West Africa and were concealed in dried fish.
A 36 year old Irish woman was arrested at the scene and the garda investigation is ongoing.
A file will be prepared for the DPP following the receipt of analysis from the forensic science laboratory.
