Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Dublin teenager, who was questioned in relation to a number of stabbing incidents in the city last weekend, has been remanded in custody to appear before a court in Dublin today.
The youth, who cannot be named due to his age, appeared in custody before Galway District Court this week.
He had been released without charge in relation to the stabbing incidents in Galway at the weekend and a file is being prepared for the DPP in relation to that.
He was then re-arrested and taken into custody after it emerged there was an outstanding warrant in existence for his arrest, issued by a court in Dublin in July, for failing to appear before that court in relation to other matters.
A solicitor, who travelled from Dublin to represent the boy, said he was in difficulty as the boy’s mother had not come to court and in the circumstances, he would not be making a bail application.
He said the boy was willing to go into custody.
Judge Fahy remanded the teen in custody, to appear before Blanchardstown District Court later today.
