Gort Community School 1-15 Presentation Athenry 2-10
Gort Community School defeated Presentation Athenry in the replayed final of the NUIGalway Connacht post primary Juvenile hurling championship. The drawn encounter went to extra time and still the two teams could not be separated was played in a downpour recently
The replay that was played in perfect conditions also in Ardrahan once more saw Gort C.S lead 1-7 to 0-4 points at the break and eventually despite a brilliant fightback by Pres Athenry held out for a 1-15 to 2-10 win.
Crusheen’s Tadgh Dean was team captain and led from corner back with an all Clare teaching staff in charge of the Gort team.
