Galway Bay fm newsroom – Well known community activist and Church of Ireland clergyman, Anthony Previté, is proposing that a campaign be started-up aimed at bringing Galway Airport back into service.
The Reverend Previté, who was involved in the first meetings to set up Galway Airport in Carnmore, says he believes there would be a groundswell of support – including financial contributions – to bring the Airport back into the aviation network.
The airport is now owned by Galway’s two local authorities and the Oughterard based Reverend has been in contact with City Councillors and County Councillors as well as TDs about the issue
He says that more initiative and imagination is needed in order to bring air services back to Galway.
Reverend Previté says Galway is one of the leading cities in Ireland with a large hinterland and needs a functioning airport.
