Galway Bay fm newsroom – County CEO Kevin Kelly is to meet Clydagh Bridge protestors later this afternoon at County Hall
Galway county council says a public consultation was held three years ago about the bridge in Moycullen which is now the location of a public protest over its demolition
Residents who have been protesting at the location since 6.30 this morning say they naively felt the 200 year old bridge would be conserved and would not be architecturally different
On the other side of the coin concerns are being raised that any postponement of the N59 works will have serious economic implications for the village of Moycullen coming up to the Christmas season.
