Galway Bay fm newsroom – More than 600 thousand euro in settlements was made by Galway people to the Revenue Commissioners in the second quarter of this year.
There are seven Galway names on the latest tax defaulters list published by Revenue, covering the period from the 1st of April to June 20th.
The largest settlement in Galway was made by GLE Limited, of Lisbeg, Eyrecourt, Ballinasloe.
The live animal exporters reached a settlement with revenue totalling 138 thousand euro, for the underdeclaration of VAT in a revenue audit case.
Second on the list for the second quarter of 2015 is Sean Grimes, a medical practitioner with an address at Kilrainey, Moycullen.
He paid just over 124 thousand euro to revenue following a revenue investigation case into non-declaration of income tax and underpayment of PAYE/PRSI.
Third on the list of defaulters is Brendan Carroll, a building contractor and property developer with an address at Derrygimbla, Ballyconneely.
He made a settlement of just under 112 thousand euro as part of a revenue audit case into non-declaration of income tax, capital gains tax, VAT and capital acquisitions tax.
Next on the list is Medical Consultant Idris Founas, of 25 Garbally Oaks, Ballinasloe.
He made a settle of almost 110 thousand euro as a result of a revenue investigation case into non-declaration of income tax.
He’s followed by Sea-Cruise Connemara Limited, a tourism facilities operator with an office at 56c Bowling Green in the city.
The company settled with revenue at just under 80 thousand euro for underclaration of VAT as a result of a revenue audit case.
Next on the list of defaulters is building contractors MHV Construction Limited.
The company, with an address at Kidsfort, Barnadearg, Tuam, reached a settlement of just over 48 and a half thousand euro for the underdeclaration of corporation tax and PAYE/PRSI as a result of a revenue audit case.
The final name on the list is MJH validation Engineering Limited, a Validation engineering service provider currently in liquidation.
The company, with an address at 77 Renmore Park, Renmore, paid Revenue 33 and a half thousand euro in a revenue audit case for the underdeclaration of corporation tax and PAYE/PRSI.
