A Galway company has been selected by internet giant Google to take part in a prestigious programme for promising startup ventures.

Altocloud, headquartered at NUI Galway, is a communications company which connects businesses with their customers through the use of data analytics.

Altocloud was established in 2014 by former CISCO senior vice-president Barry O’ Sullivan and also boasts a workforce at Silicon Valley in the US alongside it’s Galway team.

It’s one of 30 high potential Irish Startups chosen to receive 12 weeks of intense mentoring through the Google ‘Adopt a Startup Programme’.

The programme aims to help create conditions for greater investment and increased employee numbers through the development of promising business strategies.

Following the three month programme, Altocloud will take part in a grand final at Google’s European HQ in July, to seek investment in their developed plans.
