Galway Bay fm newsroom – More Galway names have been added to the final list of nominations for a seat in the Seanad.
Yesterday (21/3) was the deadline for nomination to the Seanad panels by Oireachtas members.
Former County Councillor Seosamh Ó Laoi, former Fianna Fáil T.D for Galway East, Colm Keaveney, Sinn Féin Senator Trevor O’ Clochartaigh and Independent County Councillor Tom Welby have all joined to the contest.
They join several other Galway hopefuls who are trying to secure a seat in the Upper House of the Oireachtas on vocational and NUI panels.
Ballot papers will be issued on April 11th with the close of poll on Monday April 25th.
