Galway Bay fm newsroom – A public meeting in Tiernee this evening is set to discuss issues facing the water supply for Tiernee-Lettermore.
People in the area have been on a boil notice since the beginning of the year following the discovery of Cryptosporidium.
Irish Water carried out emergency upgrade works at the Tiernee-Lettermore water treatment plant last month, and has been flushing the watermains.
It’s understood a report is due to be sent to the EPA in the coming days on the area’s water supply.
It follows the signing of contracts for a one million euro upgrade to the Carraroe Water Treatment Plant over the next six months.
The public meeting will take place this evening at Tiernee Community Hall at 6pm.
