Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Galway school principal has been chosen to undertake a prestigious national role as the director of a new centre for school leadership.
Mary Nihill, Principal of Calasanctius College in Oranmore, has been selected to lead the new support service aimed at primary and post-primary school leaders.
The 3 million euro initiative will operate in partnership with the Department of Education, the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals, and the Irish Primary Principals Network.
During it’s three year pilot period, the center will offer training and mentoring services for newly appointed and serving school leaders across Ireland.
Mountbellew-native Ms. Nihill also currently serves as President of the National Association of Principal and Deputy Principals.
