Galway Bay fm newsroom – The number of patients who’ve had to spend time on trolleys at UHG has decreased slightly in the past year.
During February, 583 people waited on a trolley or in an over-capacity ward at the hospital.
This is a drop of almost 6 pecent on the figure for February 2015, when 620 patients spent time on trolleys.
Nationally, the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has found that there was an 8% reduction in the number of admitted patients on trolleys over the past 12 months.
The figures show that 8,885 patients spent time on trolleys last month, compared to 9,657 in same month in 2015.
