Galway Bay fm newsroom – Students at NUI Galway are set to vote this week on the decriminalisation of drugs for personal use.
Students at the university are being urged to have a say in a student union referendum this Thursday, which will decide the union’s stance on the issue.
Last year, students at NUI Galway voted overwhelmingly in favour of the legalisation of the cultivation, sale and possession of cannabis.
Meanwhile, the student body is also set to decide the Student Union’s position on the abolition of the Direct Provision system on the same day.
The dual referendum will take place at NUI Galway this Thursday.
