Galway Bay fm newsroom – It’s expected that the newly-refurbished Aras Mhic Dara Community Nursing Unit in Carraroe will be fully operational by the end of May.
At a recent meeting of the Regional Health Forum West, it was revealed that the facility will re-open to it’s full capacity of 47 beds.
In January, the HSE allocated an additional 850 thousand euro in funding for the facility in it’s service plan for 2016.
In total, 1.5 million euro has been allocated for the refurbishment and upgrade of the nursing unit, allowing it to meet HIQA standards.
