Galway Bay fm newsroom – A public meeting will take place in the city tonight (22/2) over a proposal for a secondary school on the grounds of NUI Galway.
The Board of Management of St. Joseph’s College – ‘the Bish’ – at Nun’s Island had asked the city council to include an objective in the Draft Development Plan supporting the development of the school on lands owned by NUIG.
The proposed site is 4 acres between NUIG’s hockey pitch and the N59.
It’s understood local residents are concerned that the site is too small for a school and that there would be increased traffic hazards.
A meeting has been organised for residents in Dangan at the Westwood Hotel tonight at 8 o’ clock.
