The applicant is hoping to redesign the building to provide a four storey building over a basement carpark.

It would accommodate 77 professionally managed student and self-catering holiday apartment suites.

These would be made up of 65 single units, 8 twin suites and 4 two-bedroom suites.

The development would also include a reception area, social spaces and storage areas aswell as a roof terrace, 57 car parking spaces and 63 bicycle spaces.

As part of the plans there would be a new footpath link to Seán Mulvoy Road.

The suites would be specifically designed for use during the college semester by senior undergraduates, post-graduates and visiting academics.

During the summer season the accommodation would be used in the short-term by tourists.
