Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway’s candidate for the role of President of the Irish Farmers’ Association is leading the race according to the latest opinion poll.
The RED C poll carried out on behalf of the Irish Farmers’ Journal shows that Joe Healy from Athenry has the support of more than a quarter of the farmers surveyed.
Voting for a new president of the IFA will take place in the first two weeks of April.
Speaking to Keith Finnegan, Joe Healy says that farmers want to move on from the hurt they experienced last year over pay packages for senior officials of the IFA.
