Galway Bay fm newsroom – A local councillor feels that the Knocknacarra Primary Care Centre is no longer a priority for the HSE.
Councillor Donal Lyons says there seems to be little urgency in providing the long-awaited facility.
He says recent correspondence between the HSE and Independent Galway West Candidate Noel Grealish shows future plans for the centre are uncertain.
Knocknacarra had been among the initial areas to develop Primary Care Centres since 2007, but the HSE says its planning application ‘did not continue to meet the criteria specified for the project.’
Councillor Lyons says the HSE locally should not be ‘let of the hook’ in relation to the facility.
