Red Bull have announced a new partnership with Galway GAA as official drinks partner for all Galway football and hurling teams at senior, minor and U21 levels.
Red Bull’s involvement in Gaelic Games is similar to the level of support the brand has established with some of the world’s best athletes and events in a multitude of sports, ranging from field sports to surfing, triathlon and skiing. Some of the most significant partnerships include football (FC Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Brazil), ice hockey (Red Bull Salzburg & Munchen), triathlon (Ironman, official drinks partner) and running (Wings for Life World Run) to name but a few. Red Bull has also invested in such innovations as the Diagnostics Training Centre, based in Austria, which aids athletes in recovering from injury and achieving peak fitness and performance.
The exciting new partnership continues Red Bull’s long standing association with both Gaelic football and hurling through the creation of its own events and the Red Bull Athlete network.Red Bull Longest Day is led by Red Bull Athlete and Galway full forward Joe Canning. It is based around the Irish tradition of celebrating the coming of the summer solstice. From dawn till dusk the first Red Bull Longest Day (held in 2015) revived the spirit of pagan Ireland and celebrated hurling, one of the world’s oldest sports with games played in the shadow of the Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary. Red Bull Cúl 5 led by Red Bull Athlete and Dublin footballer, Bernard Brogan is a high energy five-a-side Gaelic football tournament has been run throughout the island over the last couple of years. Both events will return in 2016 with details to be announced soon.
Starting this weekend when Galway take on Cork in their opening Allianz hurling league match, Red Bull will become the official drinks partner for all teams and players during their training and games. This will be rolled out to all senior, minor and U21 football and hurling teams with immediate effect.
