Galway Bay fm newsroom – Motorists are being warned to expect traffic delays in the city over the next few days due to the traffic lights being damaged at the junction of Newcastle Road and Quincentenary Bridge.
A vehicle collided with the control unit at the signalised junction and destroyed the unit during a crash on Saturday night.
The City Council has now ordered a new control unit for the traffic lights which has to be delivered from abroad.
It’s expected to be at least the end of the week before the traffic lights at the Quincentenary Bridge are back in place.
Gary McMahon from Galway City Council says in the meantime, motorists should expect delays, especially around Novena times.
