Galway Bay fm newsroom – Clifden RNLI is the second busiest lifeboat station in Ireland.
The boat launched 49 times last year, and brought 20 people to safety – with the majority of callouts for medical emergencies on Galway’s islands.
The busiest lifeboat station was Howth with 60 launches, and 58 people assisted.
Owen Medland of the RNLI says they deal with a whole range of emergency situations including rescuing animals.
