Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Spiddal road has re-opened in the past few minutes following a fatal road traffic collision which claimed the life of a young man from the Inverin area.
The incident occurred near Conneely’s Truck Yard at Baile Liam shortly before midnight.
It’s understood that the man, aged in his late 20s, was driving a car when it left the road and collided with a wall.
He was taken to UHG where he was pronounced dead.
The man was the sole occupant of the car. His name will not be released until all relatives have been informed.
Gardai have now completed a technical examination of the scene and the road has re-opened.
